Say hi to someone today :)

🤔 Did you know that research shows that positive social connections forecast health and longevity just as much as maintaining a healthy body weight and not smoking.

According to Dr. Barbara Fredrickson, positive social connections promote positive emotions, which have an effect on your health. Emotions cannot change our DNA, but appear to change the way our DNA gets expressed into our cells that make up our immune system and our body.

Having positive social connections doesn’t have to mean you have to have hundreds of friends and you are always out every night.  It can be simple, it can be a short call to friend, it can be a short conversation with a stranger, it can be finding out how your neighbor is doing.

If you think you might need more positive social connection in your life, don’t overthink it, start small, just a hello…how are you doing to the grocery store clerk is a great start. ðŸ˜Š
