Cry it Out

🌷One of the best things you can do for others is listen lovingly to them when they need you to.

🌷Humans are emotional beings. Our emotions are one of the ways we interact with the world.  As a society we have been taught from very early to hide our emotions.  We are taught to stop crying, to hide our feelings and keep them inside.  The problem with this is that in order to fully recover from hurts we need to be able to release our emotions, rather than storing them inside.  Storing them inside only leads to a build up of stress and tension that eventually creates harm to our minds and bodies.

🌷Some of the ways we express our emotions includes crying and talking.  Crying helps us release grief, sadness, and hurt.  Talking and sharing our thoughts helps us to digest how we feel and helps to complete the emotional recovery process.

Instead of giving suggestions to someone and interrupting someone who is trying to tell you how they feel, just listen, listen with a relaxed loving attitude. 

🌷Children also need to be listened to, especially when they cry, they should not be shushed or shamed. 

🌷When we listen attentively and lovingly we help someone express their feelings and explore their thoughts, which is necessary in processing hurt and helping to prevent chronic emotional stress.
