✨ Have you ever met someone who just seems happy and positive all the time. Does positivity just come naturally to some people? Research does show that genes do play a part in how happy you are and feel. However, all is not lost. If having a positive attitude doesn’t come naturally to you, there are things you can do to change your mindset.
Here are some helpful tips:
✨ When you feel negative thoughts entering your mind, acknowledge them but try not to have them take over. It helps to change your scenery if you can, step outside, go for a walk, practice meditation, or practice positive self talk. The goal is to keep your thoughts in the present, not worrying about problems from the past or future uncertainties.
✨ Focus on the good things or good memories. You can also remind yourself to focus on memories or people that trigger happy emotions. For example, play music that triggers happy memories or change your phone wallpaper to a picture of something that makes you happy.
✨ Practice kindness. Do something nice for someone else. Acts of kindness will improve someone else’s mood and yes this will also trigger happiness in you. It can be something as simple as opening a door or saying hello.
✨ Be around people that make you feel good, that lift you up, support you and make you laugh and at the end of seeing them, you feel happy that you did.
🌷You don’t have to practice all these tips all at once. Start slow and grow from there.
